ARCTIC BOOKS

  Ragnar Th Sigurdsson and Ari Trausti Gudmundsson founded the publishing firm ARCTIC BOOKS in 1996 and their first book was Vatnajökull; ice on fire, on the recent volcanic activity in the Vatnajökull ice cap and the subsequent catastrophuic flood. In 2000 the firm published a widely acclaimed book on Reykjavík (Into a new millennium).
 
  In 1995, Ragnar Th Sigurdsson published a well-received book and awarded on Icelandic glaciers with Ari Trausti Guðmundsson. In 1996, he and Ari Trausti published a bestseller on the recent volcanic, subglacial activity in the Vatnajökull ice cap. In 2000 the due made one more book, this time on Reykjavík, the nation´s capital in context with Reykjavík being one of the cultural cities of Europe that year
Ragnar Th. Sigurðsson and ARI TRAUSTI GUÐMUNDSSON ( b. 1948 ) who is a free-lance writer, TV-producer and geophysicist (educated in Norway and Iceland) accept assignments involving photography and writing on subjects like volcanism, geothermal activity and utilisation, geologial or glaciological phenomena plus wilderness travel in the Arctic.
